‘Protein Power’ diet author celebrates 20 years of weight loss wisdom

Many think of high protein diets as a recent invention. But in 1995, Dr. Michael Eades began work on what many consider the grandfather of today’s high fat low carb diet trend. The result was published in January of 1996 and entitled “Protein Power: The High-Protein/Low Carbohydrate Way to Lose Weight, Feel Fit, and Boost Your Health-in Just Weeks!” as reported in the Examiner.

Since then, Dr. Eades and Mary Dan Eades have authored additional books, including “The 30-Day Low-Carb Diet Solution” and “The Protein Power Lifeplan.” What’s unique about the Protein Power lifestyle: It emphasizes, literally, the power of protein while providing guidance on how to include healthy fats and carbohydrates in your diet to boost your weight loss and improve health parameters such as cholesterol and blood pressure.

Other books by the diet duo include “The 6-Week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle: The Simple Plan to Flatten Your Belly Fast!” and “The Low-Carb Comfort Food Cookbook.” Throughout their mini-library of low-cal lore, Dr. Eades and Mary Dan emphasize the facts of how to follow the plan coupled with the know-how you need about the science behind how to use protein to optimize your metabolism, burn fat faster and boost your weight loss.

And for those who have lost – and gained – and lost – and gained the same pounds over and over, they also offer in-depth help with keeping off the weight once you’ve succeeded in “Staying Power : Maintaining Your Low-Carb Weight Loss for Good.”

One of the most respected diet bloggers, Dr. Eades also recently reviewed “The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet.” He emphasized his belief that “it is one of the most important books on nutrition ever written.”

What we’re looking forward to: Dr. Eades’ plans to write a second edition of his ground-breaking Protein Power book. We’re predicting that it too will deserve a space on the shelf reserved for important and essential nutrition and weight loss books.
