Kate praised in an interview with the Daily Mail, “‘Not only does he keep me fit but he keeps me motivated! He changes [the exercises] every day and that’s really important so you don’t get bored.”
Creator of “The Ultimate New York Body Plan: Just 2 weeks to a total transformation”, David believes that by combining mind-body conditioning, multi-tasking workouts and smart nutrition, you can enhance your body in effectively and efficiently.
In his book “Sound Mind, Sound Body: David Kirsch’s Ultimate 6 Week Fitness Transformation for Men and Women,” he explains how to integrate his approach and diet into even the busiest lifestyle.
Talking with Access Hollywood, David said that for “The Other Woman,” he increased “the intensity and duration of the workouts, making it a strict cardio and sculpting boot camp that entailed body weights and resistance bands, sprinting and calisthenics, shadow and kick boxing.”
Because Kate “has an amazing, very feminine body, I just want to tighten everything up to keep her in top shape. To focus on her abs, we did planks on stability ball, stability ball knee tucks and hanging knee raises, and lots of medicine ball tosses with crunches – so she would crunch up, I would toss the ball to her, she would catch it and crunch back down. Then, on the next crunch up, she would throw the ball back to me and we would repeat.”
As for the ideal diet to sleekify that sizzling shape? David says Kate followed his own diet plan, which is detailed in his weight loss book “The Ultimate New York Body Plan: Just 2 weeks to a total transformation“:
She followed my ABC’s—no Alcohol, Bread, or processed Carbs, and also no sugar. She ate clean, lean protein, lots of salads and greens, and avoided everything processed. She ate small portions five times a day, roughly every three hours. Obviously, this isn’t always how she eats, but before filming, she follows it very strictly.
David’s not alone in advocating avoiding processed carbohydrates and sugar. Celebrity fitness trainer Vinnie Tortorich also believes in what he calls the “No Sugar No Grains” lifestyle. Get information about how to make it work for you, including tips on tightening and toning for torching fat, in his book “Fitness Confidential.”
In another interview, David offered these tips:
- Bread is “filled with empty carbs that spike your blood sugar, sending your body into fat storage mode and increasing your sensations of hunger. In short, bread is empty, wasted calories.”
- Choose carbs wisely. “Carrots, potatoes, rice, pasta, and corn all contain high amounts of carbohydrates and rank high or relatively high on the glycemic index.”
- Be cautious about dairy. “Many people don’t realize that dairy products contain high amounts of a sugar called lactose. Not only that, but most people are sensitive to this sugar and can’t digest it well. It leads to bloating, which is the last thing you want when you want to look your best.”
