Meet Loren Cordain, Paleo diet guru

Considered by many to be the founder of the Paleo diet movement, Loren Cordain revealed how it works in an exclusive interview with the Examiner. He is the author of “The Paleo Answer: 7 Days to Lose Weight, Feel Great, Stay Young”.

Loren’s original guide to Paleo diets is entitled “The Paleo Diet: Lose Weight and Get Healthy by Eating the Foods You Were Designed to Eat,” and it’s sold more than 100,000 copies.

The biggest misconception about Paleo food plans: That they’re fads. Wrong. They’ve found a home among those who find Paleo diets help with weight loss, as well as those who use it as a way to help their autoimmune diseases. Moreover, Loren says that Paleo diets can be useful for athletes who want to enhance their energy and improve their performance. He and coach Joel Friel co-authored “The Paleo Diet for Athletes: The Ancient Nutritional Formula for Peak Athletic Performance.”

The DIOGENES trials published in the New England Journal of Medicine and Pediatrics showed that high protein, low glycemic load diets are the most effective diets in keeping weight off after weight loss in adults and preventing fat gain in children.  These are the same diets whose nutritional characteristics emulate those of our hunter gatherer ancestors.”

In summary, if you want to improve your health and achieve your ideal weight, Loren feels that the Paleo diet is the key. It is, he concludes, “a diet that could maximize health and well being and reduce the risk for the chronic diseases of civilization which now run rampant throughout the U.S. and the western world.  Overweight and obese people will find it difficult or impossible to maintain their current overweight and obese status when consuming real living foods such as steamed broccoli, fresh salads, salmon and grass produced meats.”  To savor the full benefits of Paleo diets, click here to get Loren’s cookbook “The Paleo Diet Cookbook: More Than 150 Recipes for Paleo Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, Snacks, and Beverages.”
